Meet Katie McEachen of Artemis Parentworks

Katie McEachen is an early childhood educator and longtime nature mentor. She believes that children are sovereign, whole beings who deserve the same rights and respect that adult humans do. She believes in listening to children, hearing and seeing them, and giving them firm, kind guidance and boundaries to help them grow. Katie has been trained in and/or influenced by many philosophies, including the nature-based 8 shields model, RIE, Waldorf, and Montessori education, emergent curriculum, and Reggio philosophies. However, she along with her own on-the-ground experiences with children and parents, have made her an invaluable resource on child development. Katie has always loved talking with parents about their children’s gifts, challenges, and unique developmental trajectory, so she decided to leave her full-time teaching position and now offers her services as a guide and consultant to parents, a nature educator, and a curriculum developer in the central Vermont area.
